LONDON -- The Premier Leagues most unpredictable title race produced another surprise on Saturday as Chelsea lost at Crystal Palace for the first time since 1990. Despite the 1-0 collapse after Chelsea captain John Terry headed Joel Wards cross into his own goal at the start of the second half, Jose Mourinhos side remains top as Manchester City was held to a 1-1 draw at Arsenal. "We depend too much on other results," Mourinho said, writing off his teams title prospect. "When you depend a little its possible, when you depend a lot, I dont think its possible. "We depend now too much. I dont think now we can win the league." Liverpool, perhaps? Brendan Rodgers side is a point behind Chelsea and will go top with a victory over Tottenham on Sunday. The points tally, though, is deceptive. Although City is third and two points behind Chelsea, the 2012 champions have two games in hand. The one certainty is the defending champions wont be keeping hold of the trophy, with Manchester United still in seventh despite by coming from behind to beat Aston Villa 4-1. Southampton, a place behind United but six points adrift, produced a resounding 4-0 victory over Newcastle. In a meeting of relegation-threatened teams, both West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff scored in stoppage time as they drew 3-3. Stokes impressive form continued with Peter Odemwingie clinching a 1-0 victory over Hull, the teams fourth success in five matches. Swansea climbed above Hull into 13th by ending a six-game winless run in the league. Jonathan de Guzmans clinical double and Wayne Routledges goal produced a 3-0 victory over fellow struggler Norwich. In the trophy chase, Arsenals concern will be its return of two points from its last three games -- even if the spirited fight back against City offered hope for the title run-in. With Arsenal still reeling from a demoralizing 6-0 loss at Chelsea last weekend, David Silva completed a counter-attack to put City in front in the 18th minute. But conceding early made Arsenal more assertive and Mathieu Flamini turned Lukas Podolskis cross into the net to level eight minutes into the second half. At Old Trafford, the start of the game had fans looking to the sky when a much-publicized plane flew overhead with a banner emblazoned with "Wrong One - Moyes Out." Just one person, who said he is a United fan, has claimed responsibility for the stunt with no supporters groups backing the protest. "The support inside Old Trafford has been terrific and if ever there was a show of support for their football club and for their team, it was today," Moyes said. But supporters faith in Moyes was tested when Ashley Westwood put Aston Villa in front in the 13th minute by sending a free kick dipping into the net. Villas lead only lasted seven minutes before Rooney sent a header from Shinji Kagawas cross into the net. And after Leandro Bacuna fouled Juan Mata, Rooney put United in front from the penalty spot before half time. The lead was extended in the 57th when Juan Mata scored his first United goal since joining from Chelsea in January for 37.1 million pounds (then $61 million), and substitute Javier Hernandez wrapped up the victory in stoppage time. On the south-coast, Southamptons victory will have offered England coach Roy Hodgson some encouragement for the World Cup -- with three different English scores. Jay Rodriguez put Southampton in front just before half time and netted the fourth in the 89th after Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana scored. Wholesale Vapormax 95 . J.J. But after a three-touchdown performance Saturday night to lead the Riders over the visiting Toronto Argonauts 37-9 at Mosaic Stadium, Ford made a strong case for himself. An East Division All-Star with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2013, Ford says he came to Regina ready for any chance hed get. "Opportunities are limited, so youve got to take advantage of them no matter what," he said. "I came here to work and put the team in a position to win." The newly signed running back scored first-half touchdowns of 20, three and two yards in his debut for Saskatchewan (2-2), while running for a total of 113 yards. He also had 24 receiving yards. Fords three touchdowns on the ground were one shy of the single-game franchise record held by Ferd Burket, Milson Jones and George Reed. The injury-depleted Argonauts (1-4) meanwhile, dropped their third straight game. Torontos lone victory came against the Riders at Rogers Centre in Week 2. As good as Ford was in his debut, Saskatchewan quarterback Darian Durant held off on referring to him as the teams "answer at running back." "Man, you can never crown anyone off of one game -- its a long way to go," said Durant, who connected on nine of 17 pass attempts for 155 yards and an interception. "I think Will still has some improving to do ... He did a great job of running the ball in key situations. "But we all have to pick our game up." Ford echoed his quarterbacks words. "Its going to take time," he said. "Ive got a few mistakes that Ive got to work on. I stay down on myself when I make mistakes. Im going to watch film, correct those mistakes and see what happens." Roughriders coach Corey Chamblin said he wasnt expecting a perfect game from Ford. "He hadnt even been close to a training camp for us," Chamblin said of his new ruunning back.dddddddddddd "Just throwing him in there, we expected some mistakes. ... But we just wanted to play fast in spite of it, and I thought the guys did that." Durant surpassed the 2,500 career rushing yards mark, picking up 28 yards on the ground and running in a touchdown during the game. Argos quarterback Ricky Ray, meanwhile, was 23-of-35 passing for 221 yards and two interceptions. Toronto backup Trevor Harris completed 8-of-12 passes for 80 yards. While Durant and Ford took care of the offence, Saskatchewans defence also played its part, stifling Ray and the Argos throughout the game. Toronto running back Curtis Steele was held to just 32 yards on the ground on seven carries. Maurice Mann led Argos receivers with 62 yards. Tyron Brackenridge intercepted Ray on his first pass attempt of the night, and Tearrius George forced and recovered a Ray fumble when the Argonauts returned to the field -- the second of five turnovers forced by Saskatchewan. The Riders also forced Toronto to punt on four second-quarter possessions. Mark Legree notched a late second-half interception, shortly before the half ended with the Riders up 28-6. Roughriders kicker Chris Milo nailed a 39-yard field goal in the third quarter, and booted field goals from 38 and 43 yards in the fourth. Toronto kicker Swayze Waters replied with field goals of 17, 16 and 40 yards for the only Argos points of the game. Durant opened the scoring, taking advantage of the Brackenridge interception with a 10-yard touchdown run on the Riders first possession. Ford scored his first touchdown two minutes later to give the Riders a 14-0 edge. Waters replied with two field goals to get the Argos to within eight points as the first quarter drew to a close. Fords second TD made it a 21-6 game less than a minute into the second quarter, and his third two minutes later gave the Riders a 28-6 advantage. The Riders visit the Ottawa Redblacks Saturday while the Argos host the Montreal Alouettes on Friday. ' ' '
